Objective To explore a comprehensive solution for the informatization, refinement, and traceability of pathology reagent management, thereby improving management efficiency and quality.
Methods Using PHP language and the LNMP architecture, a reagent information management system was designed and developed. This system encompasses full-process functional modules, including asset management, procurement management, pre-storage management, performance verification, outbound management, return and exchange management, usage management, supplier management, and inventory management.
Results After the implementation of the system, the weekly reagent procurement initiation time decreased from (17.33 ± 2.08) minutes to (7.67 ± 2.52) minutes; the daily reagent storage and retrieval time decreased from (30.33 ± 2.08) minutes to (6.67 ± 1.53) minutes; the performance verification recording time per reagent bottle decreased from (1.93 ± 0.31) minutes to (0.98 ± 0.08) minutes; the monthly inventory counting time decreased from (120.33 ± 8.02) minutes to (39.67 ± 1.53) minutes; the inventory accuracy rate increased from (85.27 ± 0.86)% to (97.27 ± 0.80)%; and the expired reagent rate decreased from (9.47 ± 0.91)% to (2.03 ± 0.32)%. All differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Additionally, user satisfaction regarding informatization, refinement, and labor cost control significantly improved compared to pre-implementation levels, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05).
Conclusion The system not only enhances the scientificity and user satisfaction of pathology reagent management but also effectively improves management efficiency and quality while reducing the operational costs of pathology laboratories. It provides a practical reference for further improving the quality management of pathology laboratories.
